SOFTLINE Helped Evacuate People During Recent Tornados in Texas

SOFTLINE, large Ukrainian software developer, together with Texan RADIANT RFID, have developed, implemented and tested in real conditions the Emergency Evacuation Management System.

This system is basically the sw/hw interface allowing to efficiently hold, at the state level, the evacuation of people and cattle/pets during emergency situations. The System includes mobile RFID portals, bracelets with RFID marks, pin code/RFID marks hand scanners, GPS device to track passenger buses location, as well as corresponding software.

It ensures an identification, search and rescue of people moving during the evacuation (e.g. in/out of shelter). Simultaneously, the personnel in charge of the evacuation, receives a rapid and accurate information and is able to quickly react to changing conditions.

The use of RFID technology helps to count all those evacuated in a fully automatic mode, thus allowing the search/rescue personnel to focus at maintaining order rather than count people.

Emergency Evacuation Management System was developed by order of the State of Texas Government, USA, and had already been tested in real conditions under GUSTAV and IKE tornados last September. Other parties who cooperated in this project were AT&T, Motorola, Retriever Software and  the University of Texas

According to SOFTLINE experts, the System has been operated successfully and shown its efficiency during mass evacuation.
