Tele2 Russia to Enhance Mobile Data Experience with Citrix ByteMobile

Citrix today announced that Tele2 Russia, a leading European mobile operator serving more than 21.5 million subscribers in 37 regions, has selected its ByteMobile integrated traffic management platform for mobile video and web optimization. This deployment will enable Tele2 Russia to deliver faster internet and multimedia services and improve subscriber quality of experience for mobile web surfing. This win adds to the industry leading market presence of ByteMobile, which is deployed in the networks of more than 130 operators in 60 countries, serving more than 2 billion subscribers worldwide.

Tele2 operates in Austria, Croatia, Estonia, Germany, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Norway, Russia, and Sweden — the largest operating company being Tele2 Russia, with a customer base increasing by the hundreds of thousands yearly. The operator is active in the development and delivery of high-quality, affordable mobile data services to consumers in Russia.

“Russia represents the largest mobile market in Europe and competition among network operators in the region is fierce,” said Roman Volodin, product director, Tele2 Russia. “It is imperative for us to maintain a high quality of service for our customers, while operating the most efficient network in Russia and always providing the best deal. The Citrix ByteMobile platform will contribute to both data revenue growth and data delivery cost savings.”

“We are pleased to partner with Tele2 Russia to advance its mobile data strategy, as well as its continued growth in the regional mobile data market,” said Chris Koopmans, vice president and general manager of Service Provider Platforms, Citrix. “Our Smart Capacity platform and solutions enable operators to consistently deliver the best possible experience to their subscribers based on real-time network conditions. Stronger quality of service leads to increased consumption of content and applications, which in turn leads to profitable revenue growth for mobile data services.”

Reksoft, a leading provider of systems integration services for the telecommunications industry, is the reseller partner for this deployment and will provide deployment and local support services. With more than a decade of experience in the telecom market, Reksoft has a strong history of working with the leading mobile operators in the CIS region.
