Telerik Trainer Powers Microsoft Germany’s Visual Studio Learning Center

Telerik tool uniquely enables beginning developers to participate in interactive Visual Studio tutorials

Telerik, a leading provider of development tools and components for the Microsoft .NET platform, announced that the Telerik Trainer is enabling Microsoft Germany’s newly launched Visual Studio learning center for application developers. After downloading the tool from www.telerik.com, developers can view online tutorials and participate in unique, interactive training sessions through Microsoft’s online portal.

“Telerik Trainer is the ideal e-learning tool for programmers. It features an innovative approach of combining multimedia, web content and hands-on integration with Visual Studio—just what we needed for our beginner learning content on the German Visual Studio website,” said Uwe Baumann, product manager developer tools at Microsoft Germany. “Further, Telerik Trainer’s authoring interface is very intuitive, enabling us to roll out our tutorials very quickly. Congratulations to the friendly, competent and passionate team at Telerik.”

The Visual Studio development system is a comprehensive suite of tools designed to help software developers create innovative, next-generation applications. Microsoft Germany initially considered developing its own training application for the Visual Studio learning center but sought to leverage the Telerik Trainer instead, primarily because of the application’s unique integration with Visual Studio. For example, a developer can open a Visual Studio project while watching a tutorial, and Telerik Trainer will automatically navigate to the appropriate code file and line number. The application also features synchronized highlights and topical table-of-contents navigation, leverages latest Microsoft .NET innovations such as Windows Presentation Format (WPF), Windows Communication Format (WCF), Language Integrated Query (LINQ), etc. and automatically updates itself—all of which contribute to a training experience of unmatched ease and relevance.

“Telerik Trainer has been designed from the ground up to deliver the most advanced and effective, self-paced training available on the market today,” said Ivo Nedkov, unit manager of the ASP.NET division at Telerik. “It has been our pleasure to work with Microsoft Germany on its Visual Studio learning center, and we welcome the opportunity to share resources such as Telerik Trainer with other organizations and encourage ongoing .NET development.”

In regular contact with Microsoft about upcoming .NET releases, Telerik is able to anticipate forthcoming technologies and roll out associated tools and controls for its customers. In this way, Telerik—a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner, Visual Studio Industry Partner (VSIP) and member of various Microsoft Technical Adoption Programs (TAPs)—effectively future-proofs an enterprise to take advantage of Microsoft .NET development.
