TietoEnator to be the first Microsoft Unified Communications Lighthouse in the Nordic countries

TietoEnator has been approved to be the first company in the Nordic countries to accomplish the challenging requirements for becoming a so-called Microsoft Unified Communications (UC) Lighthouse. To become Lighthouse, the company must deploy the full Unified Communications stack from Microsoft to a minimum of 250 seats to use their technology. The stack consists of Unified Messaging/ Voice mail, Office Communications Server (OCS) 2007 Instant Messaging, presence, conferencing and OCS VoIP.

With excellent integration and managed services capabilities, TietoEnator provides its customers the solutions which are fully utilizing UC services in applications, portals and in different business process scenarios. These services are based on Microsoft’s UC technologies.

Ari Kaukelin, head of Business Development at TietoEnator Processing & Network says: “This is an important milestone for us.  We don’t only sell these services to our customer’s but use them internally at TietoEnator as well. With our Unified Communications & Collaboration services we will drive new innovations, develop our customer relationships and cut corporate travel costs.  We are also in much better position to explain the benefits and demonstrate these services to TietoEnator customers in the everyday life.”

Dag Cummings, Business Development Manager at Microsoft, says: “TietoEnator was one of the first EMEA partners to qualify and join our Voice Partner Program showing strong competencies within Unified Communications and also proving wide knowledge within the EMEA Voice over IP market. The fact that TietoEnator is now “taking their own medicine” just cements their commitment to Microsoft Unified Communications Voice – not only are the able to offer skilled consultancy, implementation and managed UC services – they also practise what they preach. TietoEnator’s Future office offering combined with Unified Communications offer a unique approach to increased business continuity and productivity and is again showing the way how Information Workers truly can optimize their productivity in the demanding world of collaborating across space and time zones. That is really what a Lighthouse is meant for. TietoEnator has all in place needed to improve their customers’ productivity the same way they have done to their own employees. “
