Consumer Health Technologies, American IT company, won a state tender to develop software for the needs of healthcare and health insurance market.

During the last few years, the healthcare in the U.S. has been influenced by the national healthcare reform, initiated in 2009 by Barack Obama. In the center of the reform – reducing the cost of healthcare and creating a universal healthcare system to extend insurance coverage to 50 million uninsured. One of the key stages of the reform is development of online Health Insurance Exchanges across the United States, where insurance companies will provide various health plans and insurance options. Those who are not covered by the employer will be able to shop and choose affordable health insurance through such Exchanges.

CHT will work for the next few years to build such an online exchange. The first release is scheduled at the end of 2012.
