Implementation of DCI MySite Warehouse Management System and TradeSync Integration Manager – a solution for EDI communication in VPS LOGISTICS Company.

A dynamic Czech provider of logistics and transport services, the VPS LOGISTICS Company, has chosen a new logistics information system – DCI MySite and Axway TradeSync Integration Manager – a system for electronic data interchange. Aimtec was selected to deliver the new systems. The company develops the DCI MySite in its own development centre and is a partner of the supranational Axway Company in the Czech market, where it sells and implements an EDI solution – TradeSync Integration Manager. The new logistics system is intended to ensure for VPS LOGISTICS the recording of goods balances and to manage the movements of goods, materials and packages of its customers in the warehouses. Through EDI communication, VPS will exchange business documents with its customers, including the receipt of call-offs, and sending stock balance data, as well as invoicing data.

The 100% Czech VPS LOGISTICS Company provides comprehensive services in the field of transport, warehousing, packaging management and logistics consulting services. It performs both international and domestic transportation (freight and passenger transport), including special Just-in-time deliveries. For warehousing purposes the company has at its disposal several warehouses strategically placed near the D5 highway. It currently provides full logistics services outsourcing to its key customer, the Kostal Company which is a significant automotive industry supplier. With regard to increasing Kostal’s requirements and with regard to the efforts of the company to win new customers also from other than automotive branches, VPS has decided to invest both in modern storage areas and in purchasing new information technologies to support and control the logistics processes in the new constructed warehouses and to ensure electronic communication with its business partners. These investments should especially contribute to increase the competitiveness of VPS in the market of logistics service providers.

The selective procedure regarding the delivery of new information systems was won by Aimtec that offered both the DCI MySite logistics information system and an electronic EDI communication solution – the Axway TradeSync Integration Manager. The decisive factors during the selection of the new partner were practical demonstrations of the DCI MySite system on the premises of companies similar to VPS that have been using this solution successfully, and also the experience of Aimtec with specific requirements of logistics companies.

In the VPS Logistics Company the DCI MySite warehouse management system will control all goods and material movements, including receipts, placement in storage, picking and shipping according to the requirements of individual customers. The system will also record material, goods and packages storage times, as well as their movements, which will subsequently serve as data for invoicing of the company services to the customers. Thanks to the DCI MySite system, the VPS will always have actual and on-line information about exact balances in its warehouses. Through electronic EDI communication, reports will be sent to customers. In addition, the DCI MySite solution will support the legacy kanban material deliveries to production for its key customer – the Kostal Company. The second system, the TradeSync Integration Manager will ensure all electronic data interchange with business partners, including the receipt of call-offs and the sending of reports of actual stock balances and stock movements that are necessary for the invoicing of services performed.
