Media authority expects bids for digital public services on January 15
Bids for the provision of digital public services through a currently unused block of the 450 MHz frequency has to be submitted on January 15, Hungary’s National Media and Infocommunications Authority (NMHH) said after publishing the final documents on Friday.
NMHH announced the tender on October 28.
The winner will be granted a 10-year license for the block, with an obligation to provide mainly public services on the frequency. The block could also be used to smart metering and machine-to-machine communication, among others, NMHH said. Data exchanged through the frequency block will improve the efficiency of the road e-toll system, and the communication between aid and emergency systems and make it possible to connect small local government offices into the national system.
Applicants must pay a HUF 150 million tender fee, with the winning bidder obliged to pay HUF 132 million in annual frequency fees in the first four years and HUF 265 million from the fifth year.
