To support global clients in both North America and Europe, as well as the company’s overall global expansion strategy, Endava, a leading IT Services company listed among the top 100 outsourcing companies worldwide, has chosen Colombia and its capital Bogotá to start operations in Latin America, following a detailed location analysis of the region.
Colombia was chosen for many reasons, including that it is the third largest economy in Latin America and has a growing IT services sector (15% growth in IT services in 2013-2014). The country was highlighted by the World Bank as a top performer in 5 of the last 8 years and is also the top country in Latin America and 6th in the world for investor protection.
Known as the “Athens of South America”, Bogotá has some of the best universities in Latin America, producing over 17,000 graduates in IT and engineering related fields every year. Its talent-rich IT sector holds over 73% of the nation’s IT PhD’s, 51% of Master’s graduates, and an excellent availability of specialised bilingual professionals for the region.
Located on the US Central / Eastern Standard Time zone (GMT-5/-6) Bogotá has direct travel connections with most major US hubs, and direct connections from the UK and Western Europe.
Endava will be actively recruiting people for its new software development centre in Bogotá, whilst continuing to increase headcount in its existing locations in Central Europe.
John Cotterell, CEO Endava, commented
“Our business success is leading to further expansion in Latin America. Bogotá offers great potential for the IT sector due to its excellent universities, highly-educated workforce with excellent language skills, and reliable business infrastructure.
We have also been encouraged by the favourable business environment and by the open approach of the authorities and local businesses. Bogotá will become a very important delivery centre for us.
We focus on helping people to be successful through a strong company culture and we expect to grow here just as fast as in our other centres, with an aim to become the employer of choice in the region, as in other Endava locations in Central Europe.”
Kumail Jetha, Country Manager for Endava’s centre in Bogotá said:
“We are setting-up our office in Bogotá and have already started recruiting engineering teams that will be involved in projects for both US and European clients. We offer great opportunities for both IT graduates and experienced professionals, through a challenge and support culture, a structured approach to career development, exposure to an international work environment, an Agile way of delivering projects, and opportunities to travel overseas collaborating with clients and colleagues in other countries.
Additionally, our Endava University programmes will also provide technical and soft skills development, and we will offer English language training within our facility.
Our local leadership team is made up of experienced IT professionals from our other well-established European locations and will focus on passing on our culture and way of working.”
Endava is a privately-owned IT services company, with over 15 years of experience of working with some of the world’s leading Finance, Insurance, Telecommunications, Media, Technology, and Retail companies helping them evolve and transform their businesses to meet the needs of today’s and tomorrow’s customers.
Alongside Colombia Endava has over 3,000 employees located in offices in North America and Western Europe and delivery centres in Romania, Moldova, Macedonia and Serbia.
Along with investing in long term customer relationships, Endava recognised the importance of providing rewarding and challenging careers for people and, by doing so, has established itself as the employer of choice for the best and brightest engineers.
