On 9-10 November in Düsseldorf, Germany ASTEC participated at Pipelinetage 2011. We presented MobGIS – an innovative solution enabling mobile access to the network infrastructure and supporting projects carried out in the field. MobGIS is designed for users of the GE Smallworld™ technology and is the first solution dedicated to tablets and smartphones based on Android which can also work without access to the Internet.

During the presentation “Mobile GIS for smartphones and tablets” we demonstrated how the functionality and application works both in on-line and off-line mode. Our speech met with great interest and was an opportunity to discuss the possible implementations and further development of mobile GIS solutions. Conference participants also had the opportunity to see MobGIS working on HTC, Samsung and Motorola devices at our booth.

The annual conference Pipelinetage organized by Geomagic GmbH is the place where users of Smallworld™ GIS meet and exchange experiences in the field of transport and distribution of gas and oil in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
