‘Science for economy or economy for science?’ – the answer to this question will be the objective of representatives from science and business during the 10th Regional Conference ‘Science for Economy’. The meeting will be held on November 29-30. Ericpol will be represented by Marek Gajowniczek, PhD, Cross-Functional Programmes Director, who is going to take part in the discussion and be on the jury of the ‘Projekt Uczelnia 2050’ competition.

The meeting will take place in the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Lodz at ul. Kopcińskiego 8/12. On the first day of the conference, an attempt will be made to define the needs of the business sector and communication barriers between universities and entrepreneurs, and to specify guidelines for the university authorities responsible for education. Marek Gajowniczek will take part in the discussion on an efficient model of cooperation in the area of research and service between business and science.

On November 30, creative workshops will be held on advertising communication, aimed at students and doctoral students. The presentation of the winners of the competition for doctoral students titled ‘Projekt Uczelnia 2050’ will be the highlight of the second day of the conference. The jury, of which Marek Gajowniczek is a member, will choose one out of the five best ideas for a university of the future, which would be attractive to students as well as researchers and employers. The project is supposed to include long- and short-term innovative solutions.

‘I am pleased that the submitted works are interesting and creative. Many of the proposed innovations deserve to be implemented. I really hope that the idea of improving the business-science relationship as early as at the level of education will be continued,’ says Marek Gajowniczek.

The author of the winning project will be awarded PLN 1,000. The organizer of the competition also provides for the possibility of awarding the Special Prize of the UŁ President, which is PLN 5,000.
