San Jose, CA – GlobalLogic announced today that it has become a member of the GENIVI Alliance, a non-profit industry alliance committed to driving the broad adoption of an in-vehicle infotainment (IVI) open source development platform. The organization works to achieve this mission by aligning automotive OEM requirements and delivering specifications, reference implementations, and certification programs that form a consistent basis for further open source and ISV development. GENIVI’s founding members include BMW Group, Wind River, Intel, GM, PSA, Delphi, Magneti-Marelli, and Visteon.
As a GENIVI Alliance member, GlobalLogic will be able to leverage GENIVI’s specification and implementation guidelines to bring sophisticated open source IVI products to market faster. “GENIVI’s insights have significantly enhanced our own efforts in the automotive IVI space,” said Alex Agizm, CTO Embedded Systems, GlobalLogic. “For example, we recently built an open source platform that accelerates the development of Android-based IVI products and services. Through our partnership with GENIVI, we were able to ensure that our Nautilus platform adheres to industry standards.”
Leveraging the Nautilus platform as a solution accelerator, GlobalLogic partners with automotive ecosystem players to quickly and cost-effectively develop hybrid Android/Linux-based IVI systems on a single SoC. The platform – which includes architectural concepts, a modified Android OS distribution, and advanced UI concepts – enables GlobalLogic to develop powerful Android applications without being affected by limitations around stability, performance, or slow boot time.
