Bamboo Solutions has recently launched a hybrid mobile version of their Project Management Central (PMC) application — a signature product in the company’s portfolio of solutions that is used widely to extend the project management-related capabilities of SharePoint.

Sigma Ukraine’s involvement was to perform consulting, documentation development, software development, and testing of the product, as well as to support it after the launch.

The hybrid version was developed to effectively track and manage tasks, costs, deadlines, and resources with the possibility of unlimited customization on the client`s side.

“The main challenge was to choose between a native app and a pure HTML 5 Web solution with responsive UI,”

says Svitlana Starikova, Project Manager at Sigma Ukraine.

“Initially, it was planned to adapt a PMC site to mobile devices by means of graphical interface. However, after careful pre-study our recommendation was to create a ‘hybrid’ of the mobile and Web solutions. Through a special wrapper a native mobile version of the site was connected with the Web client written in HTML5 and jQueryMobile.”

The Sigma Ukraine team was also responsible for the development of a new design concept for the mobile application.

The delivered solution streamlined the development costs and reduced time-to-market. The achieved result was perfectly in line with the customer`s expectations.
