Moldavian Ministry of ITC discussed Harmonisation of Digital Market with DG CONNECT

 

Vitalie Tarlev, the Deputy Minister of ITC, had a meeting today, November 6, 2015, with Vassilis Kopanas, representative of the Directorate General for Communications Networks, content and technology of the European Commission (DG CONNECT).

During the meeting there were discussed the initiative of creating the European Single Digital Market and the need to harmonize national policies and markets in order to eliminate the existing obstacles and barriers.

However, to ensure the exchange of experience in the field and support for policy development, the MITC representatives agreed to participate at the first meeting of the Panel on Harmonising Digital Markets.

While discussing the ICT projects, the parties agreed to cooperate in the implementation of provisions of the Association Agreement with the European Union by the Republic of Moldova in the areas of competence of the Ministry of Information Technology and Communication, including the National Strategy for Information Society Development “Digital Moldova 2020”, which aims to ensure a systematic and predictable development of the sector, based on principles outlined by the “Digital Agenda for Europe”.

Harmonisation of digital market is one of the main priorities of the „Digital Agenda for Europe” and comprises 6 segments: Electronic identification services; Digital competences; Telecommunications legislation; Security of networks, information and cyber security; e-Commerce and e-Customs.
