Signing EU Association Agreement to create conditions for performance in ICT sector

The International Telecommunication Union will continue to support ICT development in Moldova. Assurance comes from the Secretary General of the International Telecommunication Union, Hamadoun Touré, who met today with the Moldovan Speaker Igor Corman.

Officials discussed the development of the Republic of Moldova, referring to the importance of adjusting the national legislation to the international standards and best practices.

The officials also addressed the role of investment in ICT in order to increase economic performance of all sectors.

According to the Moldovan Speaker, the signing of the Association Agreement with the European Union will facilitate the creation of additional conditions to maintain performance in the ICT sector in Moldova, including attracting foreign investment.

Secretary General of the International Telecommunication Union has revealed the importance of ICT for building a knowledge-based world, creating and sharing information quickly.

International Telecommunication Union includes 193 countries. Moldova is a member of this structure, since October 1992.
